I. Cremation Time Frame (select). * 🛈

1. I understand that no cremation can take place until a doctor has signed a death certificate (Up to 3 business days) and 2. The cause of death is approved by the district medical examiners office (up to an additional two business days). Florida Law also does not permit cremation to occur within the first 48 hours after a death.

II. Cremation Time Frame (select) * 🛈

I understand that cremation may be delayed by a doctor's or medical examiner's who delays to sign a death certificate or delays to issue a permit (medical examiners office). Cremation services should occur within 10 business days of the date of death. If a delay is due to the above mentioned parties, CSBS shall arrange for the cremation to take place within three business days of obtaining cremation approval and the contract is paid in full.

However, I acknowledge that Florida Law Section 497.607(2) permits, after 120 days from date of cremation, unclaimed cremated remains may be disposed of by a Funeral Home, Crematory, Cremation Provider and may dispose of by scattering, placing in a licensed cemetery or otherwise means provided by administrative rule.
