Important Transfer Notices

NOTE: If you would like to submit an electronic application, you must have an e-mail address. By providing an e-mail address and submitting an electronic application, you agree to receive communication from Student Relations via e-mail.

If you do not have an e-mail address, you can visit Student Relations at 130 Trinity Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30303 to submit a paper application.

Transfer Regulations

  • Students with administrative transfers must provide proof of residency annually.
  • If during the course of the transfer, the parent moves outside the City of Atlanta, non-resident tuition is required to remain enrolled at the transfer school.
  • If the parent/guardian is a non-resident employee who resigns, retires or is terminated, your student will no longer be considered a resident of the City of Atlanta and tuition is required to remain enrolled. Please contact Student Relations for information regarding students who move and/or non-resident tuition.
  • Students with transfers are expected to have regular and punctual attendance and to abide by all rules at the transfer school and Atlanta Public Schools.
  • The parent/guardian is expected to maintain a cordial and cooperative working relationship with school personnel.
  • A transfer may be revoked for the following:
  • The student has accumulated any combination of 10 or more unexcused absences from school or class, tardies to school or class, early dismissals from school or class, or late pickups from school; and/or
  • The student has a combined total of four in school suspensions, suspensions of one to three days (1-3), or disciplinary referrals to the office or two or more suspensions of 3 days or more for any reason, or expulsion.
  • Parents are responsible for providing transportation to an out of zone school

 

Non-Resident Tuition If you live outside of the APS district and are offered a transfer to an APS school, you will be responsible for the payment of non-resident tuition.

The current tuition rate is:

General education students              $11,690.00

Special education students               $18,093.00 +related services          

The tuition for the 2017-18 school year will be set by the Atlanta Board of Education in May 2017.
