CERTIFICATION CRITERIA: This course is intended to result in your certification as an Ayurvedic Food and Nutrition Consultant. Ayurvedic Food and Nutrition Consultants must possess the skills and abilities necessary to safely and competently convey the teachings of ayurveda to their clients or students. The majority of IUYA students complete this program and become certified. However, we reserve the right to withhold certification from any student who fails to develop the necessary skills. Every attempt will be made to provide input throughout the IUYA program with regard to learning deficits that could impede certification. Faculty and staff will use the following criteria to establish student eligibility for certification.

Attendance: We require 100% attendance. If you must miss any class module or session, you must speak to the IUYA director prior to the weekend of the module or session and make other arrangements to attend the module in another location. Students are also responsible for any course material missed. Attendance requires punctuality in arriving at each class session and returning from breaks. Chronic tardiness is not acceptable and disrespectful to the teacher and your fellow students.

Exams:Throughout this course, students will be required to complete both practical and written exams, which are designed to ascertain where more study might be needed or additional support required.

Home study: Students are required to complete extensive at-home study in order to fully master the material delivered in the teaching sessions. All students must satisfactorily complete and submit all assignments to receive certification.

Personal hygiene: Classroom attire should be modest, neat and clean. You are asked to practice good personal hygiene in keeping with a professional appearance.

Code of Ethics: It is essential that every Ayurvedic Food and Nutrition Consultant Training of IUYA has a high level of personal integrity and maintains clear boundaries when serving students or clients. As professionals, we must remain ever aware that clients hold us in a position of power. Some may idealize us, projecting more wisdom or attainment upon us than truly exists. As a result, it is incumbent upon us to refrain from exploiting clients for personal gain or gratification.In addition to cultivating an awareness of the power dynamic, we expect IUYA students and graduates to uphold an environment within which inner focus can be cultivated. In practical terms, we ask our graduates to refrain from sexual and/or romantic involvement with clients. Our intention is not to be disciplinary or repressive, but to foster safety for the practice of traditional ayurveda. Because we do recognize that attractions develop and could evolve into a healthy, conscious relationship, we ask our graduates to seek direction and guidance from our Ethics Development Team in these matters.

During the training Program: All students are required to adhere to the Code of Ethics. This is designed to help create safety while maintaining a professional atmosphere. Failure to adhere to the Code of Ethics could result in your being asked to leave the training program.

After Certification: IUYA graduates are expected to conduct their professional practice in full compliance with the Code of Ethics. Any complaint about unethical behavior will result in a thorough investigation. Graduates who are found to have violated the Code of Ethics may have their certificates revoked.

I agree that I have read, understood, and agreed to my rights and responsibilities, and that IUYA (International University of Yoga and Ayurveda) does not guarantee employment or take responsibility for employment or a career in the field of ayurveda, or any other health related field, upon completion of the course. I also understand and agree that IUYA (International University of Yoga and Ayurveda) is not responsible for actions of students and graduates in their ayurvedic career. I certify that I have the ability to finance my education.

In order to make informed decisions, IUYA (International University of Yoga and Ayurveda) must be able to rely on the accuracy and completeness of information provided by every applicant. Therefore, we ask each applicant to answer all questions fully and honestly. All information provided in this application will be treated as confidential and disclosed only to those with a legitimate need to know in processing the application of those otherwise providing or administering the training.

I hereby affirm that the information provided in this application is, to the best of my knowledge, true and complete. I understand that providing inaccurate or false information is grounds for: rejecting my application; being required to leave the program after I have commenced participation; or the revocation of my certification as a Certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant after completing the program.

In addition, I have carefully read the Certification Criteria, and Code and Ethics. I accept the requirements, conditions, and agreements expressed therein, understanding that my failure to meet the criteria and other requirements set out in these materials will result in my not receiving certification as an Ayurvedic Food and Nutrition Consultant and that any future violation of the Code of Ethics could result in the revocation of the certification granted.

Agreement of Understanding of Enrollment As An Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant: ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATION AND ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTS: *

I certify that the information I have provided to International University of Yoga and Ayurveda (IUYA) is true, correct and complete. I am not providing false, misleading or deceptive information, and I understand that if I am providing false, misleading or deceptive information, International University of Yoga and Ayurveda will pursue legal action. I understand that I may be asked to provide additional documentation and that International University of Yoga and Ayurveda reserves the right to verify any and all information that I provide. If I misrepresent our school / institute documents or refuse to provide documentation at a later time if asked, I understand and agree that my accreditation for school / institute will be revoked and terminated. If the documentation required for the International University of Yoga and Ayurveda school / institute accreditation status for which I am applying is not received within 15 days from the date of this application, I understand that no refund will be issued in the event of the cancellation or denial of my application. I agree that I will notify International University of Yoga and Ayurveda in writing of any civil or criminal complaint made against school / institute. I agree to hold International University of Yoga and Ayurveda and all its agents, officers, advisers, directors, and employees harmless and indemnify them for any misrepresentation of my school / institute documents and for all claims, loss, judgment or expense. School / Institute Registration in International University of Yoga and Ayurveda does not imply licensing. International University of Yoga and Ayurveda does not assume any responsibility or liability for its registered accredited schools / Institute or subscribers' efforts to apply or use the information, suggestions or training made by the organization.
