Her Voice at the Table: 50 Years of Coeducation at Exeter

Help us celebrate a monumental milestone in Exeter’s history through storytelling that captures the many ways in which coeducation has impacted our school and continues to guide our values.

We want to hear from everyone: from the people who helped make coeducation a reality to the first female students and faculty on campus to the Exonians today who are breaking through barriers and making their voices heard.

We seek your perspective on how coeducation changed the school or influenced who you became. We recognize it wasn’t always easy or equitable, and we will acknowledge the challenges as we celebrate how far we’ve come.

Every voice matters. Please share your story in the form below for possible inclusion in The Exeter Bulletin or on our special coeducation website.

For alumnae in the first five classes (1971-1975), there is a special written history project underway, created by your classmates and designed to document in detail what life was like for girls on campus during those first years of coeducation. You were the pioneers; you made history. Please consider contributing your voice to this writing project. The goal is to place the histories in the Academy archives for future historians.
