The South Carolina Nurses Foundation was established in 1974 as a nonprofit organization to promote high standards of health care by facilitating the advancement of nursing through rewards, grants, and scholarships. Through the promotion of nursing and the encouragement of excellence in nursing practice, the Foundation's major goal is to improve the quality of health care to all South Carolina citizens by advancing the profession of nursing in the state.
The Foundation is supported largely through gifts and donations to fund the various scholarship and award programs. Donations to the South Carolina Nurses Foundation provide a unique and meaningful opportunity to honor a colleague, a family member, a friend, or a special nurse or patient. Gifts made in honor of or in memory of an individual are acknowledged with special cards sent to the honoree or their family and to the donor.
