CONDITIONS OF ENTRY AND DESCRIPTIONS

Transported Artworks - All works must be securely packaged in bubble wrap (or equivalent) and cardboard with the artist’s name, phone number and "Inland Art Prize - Leonora" clearly visible on the outside.

Delivery to Leonora Recreation and Aquatic Centre before: Saturday 25th May 2019.

Perth Drop-off: Artist’s Chronicle, 130 South St, Beaconsfield (phone 9336 1861) between 2pm to 4pm Thursday 23rd May. ($30 paid with entry)
Perth Collection: Artist’s Chronicle, 130 South St, Beaconsfield (phone 9336 1861) between 3pm and 4pm Monday 17th June. 

Kalgoorlie Drop-off/Pick-up point – Toll Ipec, 8-10 Kinclaven Way West Kalgoorlie. 

Drop-off: Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd of May during operating hours 8:30 – 5pm. ($20 paid with entry)
Pick-up: Toll Ipec, 8-10 Kinclaven Way, West Kalgoorlie. From Monday 10th of June .

Leonora Collection: From Leonora Recreation and Aquatic Centre, between 10am - 4pm; Saturday 8th June.  

  1. You may enter up to THREE (3) artworks
  2. Entry Fee is $20 per entry for categories eligible for Overall prize (Aboriginal, Drawing/Print, Painting, Photography, Drone Photography, 3D/New Media/textiles), Free for Youth and Students.
  3. All 2D Artworks will be wall mounted: Framed works must be ready for hanging with “D” rings or cord/wire; non-framed works will be externally pinned with magnets or clamped.
  4. Artworks to be marked clearly on the back with artist’s name, title of work and price. Wet artworks will be painted into by our kindy kids.
  5. All items must be for sale and a 20% commission must be included in the sale price quoted. If registered for GST, the GST component should be included.
  6. All works must be the artist’s own work.
  7. INSURANCE is the responsibility of the Artist. All reasonable care will be taken but no responsibility for loss or damage is accepted.
  8. SPECIFICATIONS: Any medium or size of artwork is welcome. Entrants wishing to submit large (any dimension larger than 2m or weighing more than 30kg) or sculptural pieces are advised to discuss their proposal well in advance.
  9. Selection and judges decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into. Negative discussion entered into will remove any related awards and the opportunity to enter the prize again.
  10. Artists agree to allow any work to be reproduced in part or whole by print or electronic media only for promotion of the Award. Copyright remains the property of the artist.
  11. The organizers may reject any entry on the grounds that material, subject, presentation or method of                   production is considered unsuitable or inappropriate.
  12. Works can be completed at any time and could have been exhibited previously (except past Leonora Art
  13. Leonora Art Prize Inc. has the right to withdraw a category prize if the category is unsupported in number or quality, according to the Judges discretion.

Descriptions of Categories
Local = Currently living (or boarding regularly more than 15 days a month) in the Leonora, Leinster, Sandstone, Menzies, Laverton or Wiluna Shires.
Open = all other shires and principalities

Aboriginal Art = Artworks completed by Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (single or group), using or discussing traditional culture or themes as part of its intended meaning. The style can be traditional or contemporary art forms (eg painting, photography, mixed-media, video, sound, performance, drawing, 3D, etc.).

2D (other than Painting) - Drawing, Printmaking, Textiles, Mixed Media etc = Drawing – including but not limited to mark making, charcoal, pencil, pen, 2D textiles, collages etc. Printmaking – process of printing on any surface. 

Painting = Main medium is Paint.

Photography = Digital or analogue. Up to the artist’s discretion on any form of manipulation.

Drone Photography = Printed Image taken by an unmaned aircraft, controlled by the artist. 

3D, New Media= Sculpture, installation, textiles and other mediums concerned with space. New Media examples: Sound, Video, Performance, Relational Aesthetics etc.

Age of Youth and Students = 12 - 17 taken from year of birth, not birthday (eg 12 = turning 12 in 2019)

Student = School student from year 1 to the age of 11.
