Please submit this completed form as far in advance as possible; but, preferably at least seven (7) business days before your scheduled court appearance, or other court activity. Any requests not made prior to seven (7) business days before the scheduled court appearance cannot be guaranteed to have a Spoken Language Court Interpreter present.

The court pays the cost of Spoken Language Court Interpreters for indigent parties with state funds. If you are not indigent, the Trial Court Administrator is required by law to recover Spoken Language Court Interpreter costs on behalf of the state. If you are found to have the ability to pay, you will be billed after your hearing for the costs of the service provided.

Spanish interpreters - approximately $60.00 an hour with a two-hour minimum, plus travel costs.

Exotic interpreters - approximately $70.00 to $90.00 an hour with a two-hour minimum, plus travel costs.

*Exotic Spoken Language Court Interpreters consist of languages such as Vietnamese, Bosnian, Laotian, Russian, Cambodian, Arabic, etc. Please email Court Administration at interpreterpinellas@jud6.org for any questions relating to interpreters or cost estimates.*

Spoken Language Court Interpreters must be certified and approved by the court. You cannot bring a relative, friend, or neighbor to act as an interpreter.
