Requirements

Want to be a volunteer at World Cannabis Week?

  • Please fill out our application form and complete all of the required information. You will be contacted once your registration form is processed.
  • WCW workers and volunteers work any number of shifts on April 20, 2019. We have a wide variety of jobs to choose from and most of them require no special experience. Volunteers and workers will be scheduled and confirmed 24 hours before they are expected to work. All work will take place around the Denver metro area.

Eligibility & Commitment

  • Be at least 21 years of age with a valid State issued ID
  • Work a minimum of 6-8 hours
  • Possess a valid email address (no sharing of email addresses, please)
  • Agree to the Volunteer Release & Waiver of Liability and the Volunteer Policies & Guidelines

Volunteer Opportunities

Cannabis Concierge
Volunteers to be present at events to make sure Customers are having good safe fun, answer questions, and register guests with IDs and wristbands.

420 Shuttle Bus Crew
Volunteers to be present at events to make sure Customers are having good safe fun, answer questions, pass out water bottles, and provide information to patrons.

Street Teams
For people who are articulate, pretty, and have the right attitude. They could go out to selected places with one of us and promote the event.

 

Volunteering Perks

Daily food vendor vouchers and bottled water will be provided to our volunteers and workers on April 20th.


Volunteers will be given My 420 Tours and or World Cannabis Week tee shirts to wear during the event.

Age

You need to be 21 years or over to be considered for a Volunteer position. You need also to be 25 or over to drive service vehicles if applicable.

Photo ID

A State issued valid Photo ID will be required on entry.

Email Access

It's important to have a current and usable email address as all applications and most correspondence will occur via email.

Safety

Your safety is of the utmost importance therefore it is compulsory to comply with all safety requirements associated with your Volunteer position. These will be detailed in the Job Description.

Prior to arrival on site, you will need complete the online  induction, which covers site safety procedures and site rules.

All positions require enclosed shoes. Outdoor work requires a hat. For work involving long hours in the sun, shirts with sleeves and collar will be needed.

You will need to have the correct and valid license or ticket to operate relevant vehicles or machinery.

A happier workplace is a safer workplace. If there's anything happening which is spoiling your experience, it's important you talk with your supervisor or our Department Head and Volunteers co-ordinator.

Shifts

You must complete all shift requirements as stipulated by the Volunteers Job Description. If you are unable to do a shift due to illness, injury or family emergency, you must contact your Department Head, or the Volunteers Coordinator immediately.

Any volunteers who do not make efforts to inform us of their absence will lose their right to volunteer at future Pioneer Industries festivals.

Reporting

Incident Report forms must be completed any time there is an accident, incident or near-miss. These forms can be obtained from your Department Head or Operations and need to be logged at ECC during the festival. For any incidents that occur prior to or post festival, please bring your completed Incident Report forms to Operations or to the front office.

Smoking

Please, no smoking of cannabis while on duty during shifts. No smoking cigarettes in an festival vehicle.

Drugs and Alcohol Policy

Pioneer Industries is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all volunteers.

All volunteers are required to report for work in a fit condition, in order to perform their required duties in a safe, competent and proficient manner.

Confidentiality

All information and processes associated with the volunteer position will be considered confidential.

Ticket entry

Your volunteer ticket allows you to receive different perks for your volunteer work. It does not entitle members of your family or associates to enter on your ticket/perks. Tickets need to be purchased through the normal channels for all members of your group who are not volunteers. Please check our ticketing website for ticket availability.

It's important to bring a positive attitude and act with courtesy and in a safe manner at all times.

Code of Conduct and Responsibility

Pioneer Industries does not tolerate bullying, harassment or abuse in the work place. Please report any instance of this immediately to your Department Head/Supervisor or the Volunteers Manager. All reports of such activity will be promptly addressed. If at any time during your volunteer contract Pioneer Industries if you are experiencing any difficulties in undertaking your duties, working with your fellow colleagues or are concerned about any events that are happening, please talk with your Department Head/Supervisor or the Volunteers Coordinator about it.

Volunteer Release and Waiver of Liability

By agreeing, I forever release Pioneer Industries and each of its directors, officers, employees, partners, and agents from any Liability, claims, and demands of whatever kind or nature, either in law or in equity, which arise or may hereafter arrive from the services I provide to Pioneer Industries. I understand that this Release discharges Pioneer Industries from any liability or claim that I may have against Pioneer Industries with regard to bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result from the services I provide to Pioneer Industries or occurring while or after I am providing volunteer services. By signing below, I express my understanding and intent to enter into this Release and Waver of Liability willingly and voluntarily
