PIE: Request for Campus Liaison

A PIE Campus Liaison is a part of the Midland Chamber's Education Committee. Their purpose is to help facilitate the communication between a campus's Partners In Education and their principal or main point of contact.

A liaison will only be assigned to a campus upon request each school year.

NOTE: We will do our best to recruit an additional volunteer to be the liaison at your school, but any campus liaison requested after August 31st, 2020 will not be guaranteed.

Participation Agreement

I understand that this liaison will be a volunteer from the Midland Chamber of Commerce's education committee. I further understand that the Chamber will make every effort to fulfill all requests for liaisons, however, they may not be able to fulfill my request.

I understand and will uphold my role in this partnership as described below:

1. I will (or designated secondary contact) be available and make time to have at least 3 meetings with my Chamber Liaison over the school year (1 initial meeting to complete the needs assessment, 1 partner meeting in the Fall, 1 partner meeting in the Spring)

2. I understand that to meet the needs of my campus, it may require more than one meeting per semester with Partners to keep them engaged and updated.

3. I (or designated secondary contact) will make sure updates are communicated to my liaison as needs change over the semester.

I understand that the role of a Liaison covers the following:

1. To work with me to complete the needs assessment form (supplied by MISD's Partners in Education Program), which covers supply, volunteer, mentoring needs, etc.

2. To organize and facilitate/host meetings (at least 1 per semester) between the campus Principal and the business/community partners to address the needs of the campus.

3. To understand the Principal's time is limited and help keep these meetings on track and within the agreed-upon timeframe.

4. To take brief notes of these meetings, especially noting action items and who is responsible.

5. To follow-up with Partners to ensure action steps are completed.

6. To maintain regular contact with me and/or my designated secondary contact to update needs that may arise and/or change during the course of the school year.
