Legacy of Leadership - Preparing our Next Generation of Community Leaders

To be considered for the Native Action Network Legacy of Leadership cohort, please complete this application in its entirety. Please note that your employer must support your attendance at all monthly engagement sessions.  
 
The full cost of your tuition is $1,500.  Native Action Network provides selected participants with a $1,250 scholarship.  You will be responsible for a $250 tuition fee that can be paid up front by your employer or yourself.  Many thanks to our sponsors who make the scholarships possible - Tides Foundation, the Suquamish Tribe, and Union Bank.
 
If for personal and family reasons you need to drop out of the cohort your $250 fee is non-refundable.
 
The deadline to apply is June 30, 2019 at 11:30 p.m. PST.

Opening Retreat – September 27th & September 28th 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Leadership participants will overnight at Suquamish Resort on September 27, 2019.  Hotel room and food are covered by Native Action Network. Transportation to the Suquamish hotel is the participants responsibility.

Monthly Engagement Days will occur one Friday each month from 8:00 am to 4:00pm.  October – May 2020.

October 18, 2019: Project Planning & Team Development

November 15, 2019:  Non-Profit Management:  Your role as a leader, fundraiser, and manager. PM: This session will guide participants through a review of managing organizational finances.

December 13, 2019:  Location – El Centro de la Raza AM session: Finance 101:  Managing personal finances.  PM session: Community Building and Community Development:  What is it? What does it entail?

January 17, 2020:  “Native Non-profit panel – history of our organizations"

PM: Governance:  Relationship between non-profit organizations, elected officials, tribal governments. – Meet with City of Seattle staff and elected officials.

February 21, 2020:  State Government:  Trip to Olympia and meeting with elected officials.

March 20, 2020:  Health:  Current state of our Native health system and our families.

April 17, 2020: Education:  Current state of Indian Education.  

May 15, 2020:  King County Govt: Meeting with Larry Gossett in the am: Self Care & photo shoot pm 

June 4, 2020:  Service Projects & Graduation.
