The score required for the postgraduate courses is an average of 7; the score for reading and writing bands must be 7.

Personal Statement

The personal statement supports your application and gives you the opportunity to articulate why you are applying for this course and to describe your ambitions, skills and experience. Your one page personal statement must be written in English. Please upload it together with a copy of your ID and certificates at the bottom of this application form.
 

If you are unsure how to write one, just follow these five questions:

  1. Motivation for the course
  • What prompted you to make an application? 
  1. Preparation for the course
  • Have you done any preparation for the course? Maybe you read a lot of books or attended workshops or seminars?
  1. Experience outside of studies
  • What practical experiences do you have? Have you done a placement or internship that is related to your area of study?
  1. Preparedness for transition
  • Have you thought through what studying this course will mean for your daily life and how it will impact you? 
  1. Strengths around learning styles/assessment methods and how they link to the course.
  • What is your preferred learning style and how will this help you in your studies?

Referees

Spurgeon's College requires two references in support of your application. Please complete the details below so we can approach your referees. 
We are unable to accept references from family members or spouses/ex-spouses. Your referee should have know you for a minimum of two years or be able to provide you with an academic reference.
