Thank you for your interest in Above and Beyond Students (ABS) and Above and Beyond Learning Center (ABLC). Volunteers provide and invaluable service that cannot be measured. Whichever area you choose to volunteer in, just know you are making a huge difference in the lives of the ABS and ABLC community. The time, talent and service you choose to provide will help us remain a model afterschool program.
Following are a few volunteer opportunities you may choose from:
Academic Enrichment: Your main responsibility is to assist with homework, help students practice handwriting, learn multiplication facts, grade papers for teachers or assist our young leaders with projects. Each volunteer will be paired with an individual student or a small group based on need. You can volunteer at any level of frequency that best suits you, including daily, weekly, or monthly.
Enrichment Leader: Do you have a talent or skill you can share with our future leaders? This could be knitting, sewing, art, cooking, gardening, music lessons, photography, chess, physical fitness, dance, writing or any other activity to enrich the lives of our students.
Auxiliary:You can assist the ABS and ABLC Executive Leadership and Board of Directors in helping to fundraise for our cause or by joining a special events committee to help us with event planning, strategic planning, event execution, sustainability and marketing.
To be eligible to be a volunteer you must first fill out this volunteer application. Upon receipt of your application, you will be contacted to meet with our volunteer coordinator. We have more needs for volunteers than we have volunteers, so never under estimate the power one visit or one hour.
Again, thank you for your interest in our program. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to you joining our volunteer family.
Sincerely,
Don Williams
