2018 Summer Program

Welcome to the 2018 GSCK Program -- this is going to be the best one yet!

Please read the application carefully. Each week of our program explores a different aspect of cooking in the farm-to-table philosophy, as well as some basica qualifications for entry based on age and/or level.

We can't wait for you to join us!

August 6 - 10
Sweet, Sweet Summer
Ages 5 - 10

In this beginner's course, GSCK participants will enjoy learning about garden fresh produce, cooking basics, and daily team building exercises!

August 13 - 17
Into the Oven
Ages 8-13

Join us as we explore artisnal bread-making, the science of gluten-free baking, travel back in time using wild grains, and visit a real local bakery! Permission for trip must be granted by parent or guardian.

August 20 - 24
From Farm to Fork
Ages 10 - 16

Farm-to-table, while popular, just means eating with the seasons. Lucky for us, it's August in New Jersey! Intermediate cooking techniques are covered and seasonality is explored!

August 27 - 31
The Real Deal
Ages 13 - 18

Advanced cooking techniques are covered in this intense week of GSCK programming. Each chef will participate in a tournament of cooking, both in teams and by themselves, to win a grand prize at the end of the week! Additionally, chefs will learn recipe costing, writing, and build menus for their dream restaurant or business of their own!
