Requests will be approved and assigned with a priority level by Maria Anguiano with careful consideration of requested deadline and district/campus needs as the requests are received. Emergency or immediate translations are reserved for emergency situations and request should begin with phone contact.
When submitting a request, please allow time for receipt and confirmation of receipt and please indicate an appropriate deadline [ASAP is not appropriate unless the request is an emergency, see above].
The translation schedule for Vietnamese during the school year will be Tuesday through Thursday each morning, so plan ahead before making translation requests.
Depending on the district translation workload, five days notice must be given for a 1 to 2 page document. An additional day should be added to the requested deadline for each additional page of the document (e.g. a four page document should have a deadline at least 7 translation work days after the date of the request, approximately two school weeks).
If the requested time frame cannot be met due to other translation projects, the requestor will be contacted promptly to revise deadline if possible. Please remember that during the summer and at the beginning of the school year, translations are in process for large district documents such as student and employee handbooks.
Note: Each campus is responsible for designating individual(s) who can verbally translate into Vietnamese the contents of any document being sent home and ensuring this person(s) has copies of all documents before sent home.
