Thank you for your interest in our scholarship! Phi Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, with its mission of service to all mankind, is happy to support graduating high school seniors pursuing undergraduate education.
Founded January 15, 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, is the first Greek-letter organization established by African-American college-educated women. Our sorority serves local, national and international communities through a nucleus of 170,000 members in more than 900 chapters. In the Cincinnati metropolitan area, Phi Psi Omega Chapter promotes and supports youth development and leadership. Our chapter facilitates families’ and communities’ access to crucial resources and services. Phi Psi Omega is pleased to announce that it will award its annual scholarships in June to graduating African American, female high school seniors. There will also be additional Phi Psi Omega awards dispersed by the Greater Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation. Applicants for Phi Psi Omega’s scholarship must be female, African-American, high school seniors who will attend a four-year college or university in the fall semester immediately following their senior year of high school. Applicants must live within the following target zones: 45215, 45218, 45231, 45239, 45240, 45241, 45242, 45243, 45246, 45247, 45249, 45251, 45252, 45011, 45014, 45040, 45044, 45069, 45140.
Completed applications include the following:
____1. Submit a completed application form
____2. Submit an official transcript by your school counselor including minimum GPA of 2.5, Class Rank, ACT and/or SAT scores to akapposcholarships@gmail.com
____3. Submit two letters of recommendation (one must be from the principal, counselor, or teacher)
____4. Submit type written essay. (The essay must be no more than 500 words using double spacing, one-inch margins and size 12 Times New Roman font)
____5. Submit a wallet size photo
____6. Submit and complete all information online by midnight February 24, 2018 using the link:

____7. Participate in a face-to face interview with members of the Scholarship Committee.
Applications submitted after February 24, 2018 or with incomplete information will NOT be considered. Each applicant must be available for a face-to-face interview March 10th or March 11th. Applicants with the completed criteria listed above will be informed of the date, time and place of the interview by a member of the Scholarship Committee via email. Phi Psi Omega’s Scholarship Committee will acknowledge all application submissions with a notice of award or regret. Scholarship winners and their families will be invited to an awards brunch to be held in June 2018.
