Did you know that Pixie Park is made up solely of volunteer parents? Every dollar received from donations and membership fees go back into helping to keep the magic of Pixie Park.
We have nearly $70,000 per year of routine costs:
- $25,000+ lease paid to Marin Art & Garden Center
- $8,000 special events
- $4,000 insurance
- $1,200 pest/rodent control
- $5,500 weekly gardening
- $3,500 cleaners (e.g. bathroom)
- $400 Mailchimp communication
- $1,500 bookkeeping & taxes
- $3,100 Credit Card Fees
- $500 Misc advertising
In addition to the above costs, we also spent anywhere from $7,000 - $12,000 per year on social events, open houses, playdates, etc.
Finally, Pixie Park was built in the 1950's and has lots of natural materials that need to be regularly maintained. During the 2021-22 term we spent roughly $80,000.00 on repairs & upgrades (e.g. retaining walls, play houses, railings, etc.), upgrades (e.g. drinking fountain & bottle filler, sand table, mud kitchen, rocker toy, etc.), and gardening (irrigation, new plants, vine planters for trellis, etc.).
